Change MIDI output port for ALL Keys at once

For some reason the SoftStep has a tendency to "reset" the MIDI Port it sends to. As in, I'll have a scene where all the keys are supposed to be set to send MIDI to "1. Internal MIDI" but suddenly all the keys in the set have defaulted to "SSCom" etc, or worse still, th...

Re: SoftStep (hosted mode) died on me during a gig

Hosted mode is best for working at home and creating scenes as you go. Standalone mode is what you need to be using for reliable performance in a live situation. Yeah, I've almost the same setup and had the exact same problems a few months back before I just started exclusively using standalone mode.

Re: SoftStep v1.2 (so far so good, but with a bug)

Delighted to try out the new software.

I take it I don't need to update any firmware, no? No mention of firmware anywhere on the KMI SS site anywhere anymore, it seems...

Re: Humming noise

You shouldn't have to manually turn the ELs off every time. There is a slight bug with that yeah it seems, but if you just switch the application into standalone mode for a minute, turn ELs OFF from there, they should stay off forever then.

The hum is all just due to the lights, yeah.

An expression pedal works sort of like the Y Increment function on a SoftStep key, but it's advantage is that it's just more ...

Re: Simple enough to control Ableton?

You can get simple toggle/trigger switches going pretty quickly once you have the thing installed and recognised by Ableton, etc. I was surprised at how easily I took to configuring the SoftStep, I'm usually sort of slow to get the hang of new programs. At this point of course I've spent a dozen or ...

Re: if ss hangs when downloading scenes

I forget where it was posted but I found the little trick of continuing to press the download button several times worked perfectly. The application actually doesn't even freeze any more after I successfully downloaded scenes for the first time. Just a question, though - when I click the download sc...

Re: Expression pedals: what ya got? how's it working?

I've had a google around and not found much to help; does anyone know where I'd find info on what I need to do to mod myself an expression pedal (for controlling with my SoftStep) out of a Dunlop Crybaby CB95 wah pedal? It has an input and and output (both mono I presume). I see a couple of articles...
