Re: Assigning tilt to modulation

Follow the instructions in the thread on pitchbend to create a JS plugin from the below code and name it appropriately e.g qunexus_mod or something. As with the pitchbend plugin, place this first in the effects chain. Enjoy! EDIT: I found testing on my second device that a small dead-band factor of ...

Re: Assigning tilt to modulation

I'll post the code as soon as I can copy it off my other laptop. The optimal algorithm ended up being slightly different. 1. Capture the initial tilt value 2. If the player tilts the key towards them i.e decreases the tilt value, replace the above value with the new value but do not send any MIDI ev...

Re: Controlling keyboard velocity accurately

You're correct; I did not know that. ReaJS is a wrapper that should allow any JS plugin to run as a VST. Ok, well in that case I'll finish off the JS code and post it here, since it's obviously gonna be more useful to others than I had originally thought.

Re: Why pitchbend doesn't work so well.

There is also somewhat of a technique to using the nub. Press down but not too hard. Then rotate your finger rather than rocking from side to side. The pressure range over which bend works reliably is fairly narrow. Too little or too much and it doesn't engage. Once you've found the 'sweet spot' you...

Controlling keyboard velocity accurately

It's taken me a while to figure out how to configure the Qunexus in order to get some reasonable control over keyboard velocity. I've found the following process to work fairly well 1. Reset all the key gains to normal 2. Set the note gain to 1.00, curve=linear, and set min = 0, max = 127 and offset...

Assigning tilt to modulation

It looks like there are two playable ways of working with the Qunexus 1. Assign pitch bend to the pitchbend controller, set the range to 12 octaves to resolve the resolution bug in the firmware, and then assign modulation to keyboard tilt. 2. Assign modulation to the pitchbend controller (using eith...

Why pitchbend doesn't work so well.

SO.... I am still in the process of turning the Qunexus into a true musical instrument (i.e, working around some of its current software limitations in order to make it more playable). I can say that the hardware really is superb, but the software has a few issues that could do with a bit of a tweak...

Re: Solved! a new algorithm to resolve the tilt pitching pro

Ok, here is the JS plugin code to demonstrate the new tilt algorithm. 1. Copy the code below into a text file using Notepad @block while(midirecv(ts,msg1,msg2,msg3)) ( // if we sent pitchbend event, reset to neutral on note on event (tilt_neutral != 0 && msg1 == 0x90 && msg3 !=0x00) ...

Nine wishes....

1. Octave neutral -press both octave buttons to reset octave transposition (as others have requested) 2. Octave lock. Press and hold both octave buttons. The lights go out. Now the octave keys will not function until either of them is pressed and held for a brief time. Why? it's rather easy to hit t...

The inconsistent velocity issue - a possible solution!

Ok, so I have pretty much solved the tilt problem - I'll post my Reaper JS here shortly on the appropriate thread. But before I am done I really wanted also to solve the issue that many people (including myself) appear to have had, namely that key velocity sensitivities are not consistent across the...
