Re: How to get software to recognize BopPad's aftertouch?

Is there a way to make aftertouch(pressure CC) always return to 1? When I release my finger or stick from the pad it can stick at as high as 28, and rarely returns to lower than 5. I've messed with the gain, curve, etc. I was hoping somebody who was sure about it would respond, but I guess I'll giv...

Could a BopPad editor be built into a VST plugin?

I was thinking about the (surprising to me) exclusive opening of MIDI devices under Windows. IE: I can't open BopPad with its editor if Ableton has it open and vice-versa. So I wonder: Is it possible to fashion an editor that piggybacks on Ableton's open? Perhaps as a VST plugin or some other sort o...

Re: Working with multiple notes on each quadrant

I tried in Chrome on the Mac, and it behaved in the same manner as with Opera.

And re Windows MIDI behavior ... well, at least now I have another reason to sneer at Windows.

Thanks for your help in this. Now I'm armed with enough info to plan my way forward with this gizmo.

Re: Working with multiple notes on each quadrant

Opera for Mac 37.0. Okay, moving over to a WIndows 7 machine, I download the editor. I create a patch with many notes per pad, load it to the BopPad, and it works! I bring the BopPad back to this Mac, and it works ! So that answers my question. When in doubt, use the editor on the Windows machine. T...

Any .json gurus out there?

Since the BopPad editor exports/imports using .json format, I figure I'll try a shout out. Y'see, there's a bit of freeware out there called Xronomorph . It generates patterns using overlaid geometric shapes. I think it's pretty neat, if a bit of a processor hog. https://www.dynamictonality.com/xron...

Re: Working with multiple notes on each quadrant

Here's the .json, zipped. (Which reminds me, I want to post something about .json in a general discussion forum.) The patch is "Hcordo1". The editor is the web version, 0.6.5 The firmware is the version that was pushed a couple days ago, 2.1.3 (My MacOS is 10.7.5. Remember, your website ha...

Re: Working with multiple notes on each quadrant

Maybe on your setup, but not mine. I have three notes set up in each quadrant. I hit any quadrant and one note plays. I hit two quadrants and two notes play.

Have you tried multiple notes recently?

Working with multiple notes on each quadrant

Okay, next dumb question:

I've loaded up each quadrant on this preset with three notes apiece. But only one -- the top one -- gets played. (If I play two quadrants, two notes get played.)

How to set up the multi-note option?

Re: How to get software to recognize BopPad's aftertouch?

Okay, the mapping I just mentioned works with Garageband, of all things, so I guess my question's answered.

Thanks.

Re: How to get software to recognize BopPad's aftertouch?

Do you mean map "Pressure" in the "Source" column to "CC" "7" in the "Message Type" column(s)? Because other than CCs, the editor's only other options for the "Message Type" are "PitchBend", "Channel Pressure" and "...
