Re: SScom ports 1&2

Powering via USB cables should not be a factor in this specific setup you are going after. The issue is the Kurzweil USB jack being able to receive and send on multiple ports simultaneously. The example we have tested with uses a USB cable and works fine because it can send and received MIDI on mult...

Re: Softstep not sending midi messages

First I would try unplugging SoftStep, closing the software, plugging in SoftStep, re-opening the Software. If that doesn't solve it, a couple things to check: If you are using SoftStep in Hosted mode alongside the software: -In MIDI Monitor, are you monitoring SoftStep Share as your MIDI input port...

Re: SScom ports 1&2

I can tell you that our SoftStep/MIDI Expander absolutely allows this to work, but in your situation it will completely depend on the Kurzweil's USB MIDI i/o capabilities. If the USB port on your Kurzweil allows sending and receiving MIDI simultaneously then it will work exactly as you have detailed...

Re: Pre-sales questions

It is claimed that Softstep is very solid. But is it? SoftStep is extremely solid, built from Carbon Fiber/Kevlar and Durable silicone keys. These very advanced buttons – will they continue to work even after months of steppings? What are your experiences? We have used our SoftSteps day after day fo...

Re: Controller 86

We have reproduced this problem with the expression pedal input and developed a fix for it already. Another thing to watch is make sure the program you are using has the correct MIDI ports enabled. When using the SoftStep in Hosted mode alongside the software, you want SSCOM ports 1 and 2 (sometimes...

Re: Standalone Time Frame for Windows????

"There is a LOT of conflict with MIDI devices in Ableton Live. Many of the other inputs get greyed out by running Softstep. A couple of times I got a "MIDI feedback" message..... I have NO idea where that came from, but I had to uninstall/install the USB device and then reboot before ...

Re: SScom ports 1&2

You are exactly correct, in Standalone mode any sort of control data you are sending out of SoftStep SSCOM 1 will be sent through the USB cable. As well, if you have the MIDI expander connected, you can use the MIDI input to send external MIDI messages out of the same USB cable. You need the MIDI ex...

Re: SoftStep application using 1GB of memory

The SoftStep application should take about 45 seconds to load initially. Sarah cut out the load time in her video to speed things up, so dont be worried its your machine when it takes longer to load.
