how to calibrate the raw sensors?

Playing with the SoftStep is kind of fun now, but the 44 controllers are very different in their sensitivity. I wonder if there is a way to calibrate them. I could do that within Max, but then I would loose resolution. And especially the point where the navigation sensors jump in is way, way higher ...

Re: An example using Softstep with only standard Max objects

Yes, I observed that as well, as there is no protection to keep three different cc messages together, if another part of the program starts sending also commands to a different LED... That is, why we need a single cc message for the yellow LED as well. Another example for bad firmware design in the ...

Re: SoftStep API

I made a little Max Standalone to switch the SoftStep into host mode. It will explain anything you need to do all from your preferred MIDI program instead of Max. I guess this is enough API for Stew as well, as you can close the program after its done its duty... You can get it here: http://dl.dropb...

Re: Convert from Max to Cocoa, please!

Yes, simply run this application, which is a Max standalone and then operate entirely in Supercollider via MIDI...
Inside everything is explained to even get rid of the little tool...;-)

Re: Problem with yellow LED

Yes its working! I included everything into a new version of the St.ools, as I added little abHaxion to it as well. St.epInit would do what the init routine with the ss help object did, but can be loaded more than once without problems, you can even close it afterwards. But it will aid in non-americ...

Re: Problem with yellow LED

Finally I got Midi Monitor doing its duty. It seems that the ss object had prevented it from functioning. I needed to restart the Mac and then I could get it open and monitor all outgoing MIDI streams. I'll try tomorrow to get a SoftStep Max implementation with that new information... I'll keep you ...

Re: Problem with yellow LED

Sorry, of course I was looking for tools to watch the MIDI stream. On the mac there claims Midi Monitor to be able to do that, but it doesn't work. When starting up it clearly tells me its not able to watch outgoing streams, I should close all Midi programs, which I did, but it still doesn't work......

Re: SoftStep API

What is the sysex command to set the SoftStep into host mode? If I would know that, I could say all the info for developement is available. For me that is the key and a missing info... I would add a feature request for standalone mode: Let it understand a simple program change command like programm ...

Re: Problem with yellow LED

Ok, I made an patcher which would allow to get yellow LEDs. I store the state of all LEDs in a coll, and if I want a yellow LED, I switch on all, and then restore the state of the other non yellow LEDs... It seems to work well, though I would prefer to control it without these hacks... http://dl.dro...

Re: The "only one ss box" rule.

Do you know the Sysex specs? That might be all we need. Then we could even skip the ss object completely... The corresponding sysex commands to "standalone off", "tether on" and "el on", "el off" and maybe the trick to get yellow LEDs... Doesn't need much more...
