Re: left & right source input?

I read this with interest, since one of the functions I use is continuous control, hopefully in an X-Y joystick type arrangement with the SS2. I think you're right about only being able to assign N-S separately in the KMI editor, & not E-W. This would certainly stop the joystick idea in its trac...

Re: SS2 sensitivity

Not a 'full-on' editor, no; I've no access to sysex data (or at least, its meaning!). My effort is a bidule group, takes the incoming raw CCs & extracts stuff, reconfigures it etc, so essentially MIDI routing, yes. The problem I'm having is that the SS2 seems so much more sensitive sending out r...

SS2 sensitivity

Hi guys Just got my softstep 2 - thanks guys; no more hum! Much more usable shaped unit. New editor looks much better too, only 200-odd MB of RAM! Hey, but I'm not using it as I've built my own. After a lot of reconfiguration I've got it working with my bidule layout & controller but I'm finding...

like KMI changed the EL backlights to LED because the hum problem "only affected a few users"?

Pardon my sarcasm too.....

Re: new editor is here

I just got this email - KMI announces Softstep2! And the new software (no sign of it on the KMI downloads site) is 'compatible with SS1 & SS2' etc. So does it work with v1? Or does it just not crash v1? And where is it? Windoze or Mack? Do I have to buy an SS2 to reap the 'full benefit'? Well th...

Re: Nav Keys Programmable

Well spotted Nofi, I hadn't got this far with the KMI software before abandoning it! Only for standalone mode though, which is less versatile than hosted; still, useful.

Re: :-(

I second that. I still use mine (it's so light & portable!), but with my own software in bidule - a two year project & still evolving. If you want something user-friendly/useable straight out of the box, this isn't it (IMHO). Sorry.
