Re: programming each corner of button??

Don't think it can be done within the KMI software, but with the S/S in 'INIT' mode, it will put out (eg) CCs 40, 41, 42, & 43 for the 4 corners of pad 6. What you do with them is then up to you! I've used Plogue Bidule to solve exactly this problem (with a bit of nifty bare-footwork!), in a not...

Re: Nav Keys Programmable

Just my 2 cents' worth.... What these guys are asking for is not, as they say, rocket science. Whether you're using ram-hungry max/msp, c++, or, eg, bidule (as I am), the navpad is just like any other pad - it puts out 4 CCs; whatever else it does is down to how the software deals with them. In the ...

Re: Old firmware...?

Hey, thanks for the prompt response!

Yeah, I still have the old files - just a compulsive hoarder I guess :) It might be a while before I get round to the experiment though....

Old firmware...?

Hi all I was just idly wondering (not a recommended activity!) whether, having got a replacement softstep around a year ago, would loading the old VJ1 firmware be possible? Have there been any hardware changes that would prevent this? Might there be any risk of 'bricking' it? Why? you might ask. Wel...

Re: Repeat question: who's using multiple functions per butt

You're welcome! Not many of us out here it seems - or bothering to read this forum :) - but here's the latest instalment if it's useful.... http://www.plogue.com/phpBB3/viewtopic.php?f=8&t=6620#p35476 Now all I need is a bidule to initialise the SS to send out raw CCs for me...... Dave

Re: Bidule group for Softstep control

Thought I'd posted an update on this topic here, but looks like I didn't! Prompted by an obscure reference to my work on this, I revisited the group I'd been using (hacked around specifically for my purposes), & came up with a more rational, almost all-encompassing alternative. A bit more versat...

Re: Humming noise

"...I wrote to KMI about this. They said that people have been able to fix it...."

I don't believe them! Only way to 'fix' it is turn off the lights.

Re: Faulty Backlight

I did actually get mine to remember I want it off, but I can't remember 'exactly' how! Basically you set it up with the lighting switched off, & save it as a scene, as if you were using the SS in standalone mode; I use mine hosted, but plug it in, & the lights come on briefly, then switch of...

SS driver without using Max/MSP?

Kindof OT I know, but anyone out there working on an alternative to a) the KMI software, & b) a driver that doesn't use any form of Max/MSP (source of the bloatware problem, I'm told)? I've got a nice bidule sorted out that suits my requirements, I'd just like to be able to initialize the SS wit...

Re: Repeat question: who's using multiple functions per butt

I am. Not with the KMI software though. I've built a bidule setup to implement it, using the raw data (CCs) from each of the four sensors in the pads to control four separate functions. Takes some pretty delicate footwork (Rubber bumpers + I sit down for my gigs!), but the combination of that plus s...
