Re: Humming noise

One customer discovered that plugging one end of a 1/4in cable into his audio interface and putting the other end in his sock made the noise go away. We believe what's happening is that your guitar strings are ungrounded which is why when you get close to the SoftStep you begin to pick up the energy...

Re: SoftStep v1.2 (so far so good, but with a bug)

What version of Windows are you on? Windows 7 or XP? Make sure not to move any applications or folders that came in the SoftStep directory out of it. The folder structure must remain the same after unzipping. So in the SoftStep Editor folder you must have the "SoftStep Editor.exe" and the ...

Re: SoftStep Version 1.2 BETA for Windows!

It seems the BETA I posted had a minor problem because of some of the support files being hidden. This is basically the same build but now it will open. Sorry about that! Here is the new link, I'll change the link above as well:

Re: two feet = multitouch!!

In the Settings window there is a feature called "Multiple Key Mode Enable". Turn this on and save the settings preset. If you're in Standalone mode be sure to re-download the scene so the changes can take effect. Now you should be able to press multiple keys at once. Hope that helps! -Sar...

Re: Need Assistance with LED Control

Those are for choosing which modline's output to send to the SoftStep alphanumeric display when using the Prefix. The prefix + the output of a modline will show up on the display if you use immediate parameter or initial return as your display mode. Immediate parameter ("immed param") mean...

Re: Need Assistance with LED Control

Attached is a screencap of how I would set up a modulation window for key 1 if I wanted the LED to come on when I step on key 1 but go off if I step on any other key. Be sure to use Key 1 Pressed only for Key 1. Use Key 2 Pressed for Key 2 and so on... Hope this helps!

Re: How come I can't get this thing to work?

Here are some screenshots that should help you out. It sounds and appears like you might be trying to set up a toggle for mainstage that turns something on and off. Attached are 2 pictures of modline settings, 1 for Hosted mode and 1 for Standalone mode. Note that you need to have a source and a par...

Re: stalled...

"It also seems like one cannot program Softstep as it is driving the LIVE Instrument, because either The App or LIVE can be open and See Softstep, but not both. Is this right? (Win7)" That's correct. Windows computers don't allow 2 different applications to use the same MIDI Port at a time...

Re: stalled...

Oh I forgot also to mention that when you set up your scenes in the SoftStep application for Standalone mode, you need to make sure the Modulation windows for each key have the modlines' device/route set to SSCOM Port 1.
