Re: stalled...

Ed, The "MIDI2 SSCOM" port which you have enabled in Ableton Live's MIDI preferences is meant to receive data from the SoftStep MIDI Expander. If your percussion controller is plugged into the MIDI In on the SoftStep MIDI Expander this would be why you're only getting the data from that an...

Re: weird controller data issue

We have fixed this bug for the next version. The next update includes many new features and updates which is why we're taking some time with it. We've started getting it into BETA testing and it should be ready soon. We aren't at the point where I can give a precise projection of when it should be r...

Re: if ss hangs when downloading scenes

Eric, Are you on Mac or Windows? Are you using SoftStep software version 1.1 with SoftStep firmware version VK1? If you're on a mac check the splash screen as you are opening up the SoftStep application. At the bottom left corner of the application, under the version number, another number will appe...

Re: SoftStep App Crashing A Lot on Win7 64bit

We are currently working on version 1.2 of the SoftStep software. We've made some changes that we believe will really help with these crashing issues in Windows 7. In the meantime I suggest using the SoftStep with the application in standalone mode just as an editor. Program a SoftStep scene with th...

Re: Keyworx and Softstep in Ableton.

Mocker is correct, we will be including the KeyWorx scene in Standalone mode so that you can download the scene that works with KeyWorx along with your other scenes that send MIDI Data out. This will be in the next version of the SoftStep software. In the meantime if you're using Ableton Live you ca...

Re: initial values in standalone?

What you could do is set the modlines to have a gain of -1 and the offset to 127. This will invert the output so that when you use the X-Increment source the output will start at 127 and then as you put weight on the right side of the key pad, the output will decrease down to 0. If you don't mind ha...

Yes it does work with Garage Band. No MIDI Expander is needed.

Re: Latching Notes

We did discover a bug in Standalone mode when using the Note Set destination with the Key [#] Pressed sources. We fixed this and it should be resolved in the next version of the Software/Firmware. So if you're trying it out in standalone mode it doesn't work quite yet because of this bug. It should ...

Re: Send Program change msg with scene select?

Sorry I didn't see this earlier. There is a way to do in hosted mode. What you would do is set up one modline on any key to use an initial value. Set the initial value mode to Always and then set the inital value next to it to the program change message you want to send out. You can then skip the so...
