Re: My Experience With Version 1.1

I've just confirmed a bug with Hosted mode not remembering the EL on/off settings. I'm reporting it on our bug list but I did discover a simple work around so I thought I'd share: 1. Go to standalone mode (even if you're not planning on ever using standalone mode) 2. From there turn the EL off in th...

Re: why are factory presets limited to one cc per pad?

The factory presets are meant to get people started. I've found that the bulk of SoftStep users out there just want to use the SoftStep for something simple to start out with so we've made our presets with this in mind. The multi-touch aspect of the SoftStep works very well. In standalone mode we cu...

Re: doing the Nanokontrol thing

I'll be working on a very basic tutorial video this week which will show how to get the SoftStep up and running with something very simple and basic. I'll post on the forum about it as soon as it's available online. You're wanting the SoftStep to work like off an on switches right? Step on a key onc...

Re: pedal greyed out

There was in fact a mistake in the manual. I had forgotten that I had documented a feature that we ended up taking out before releasing. Actually, the feature still exists but is just used differently. In standalone mode to assign an expression pedal you can just add it to any one of your key modlin...

Re: Volume pedal/expression pedal settings for key

Make sure your device/route in the SoftStep application is set to SoftStep Share. Then make sure you are monitoring only SoftStep Share in MIDI Monitor. What you are seeing is the raw data coming from SSCOM Port 1. The problem that happens with the SoftStep and Mainstage is that the SoftStep (if usi...

Re: Volume pedal/expression pedal settings for key

If your host application does not give you the ability to filter out or select a specific MIDI Input device (like Logic or Mainstage) you could either select your MIDI data manually instead of using the learn function, or you can try this: When in Learn mode instead of pressing on the key on the Sof...

Re: Volume pedal/expression pedal settings for key

Yes the X or Y Increment sources stay where you leave them when you take your foot off the key pad. They can work for many things other than volume control too.

Re: The standalone mode does not remeber the backlight state

Ah yes, We have indeed amended this for version 1.1. EL settings will now be remembered when using the SoftStep Standalone. Our release candidate has this working beautifully and we should have the official version 1.1 finished early this week. Sorry I didn't respond sooner, I actually did see this ...

Re: Volume pedal/expression pedal settings for key

Try using X or Y Increment as your sources. The speed at which you can scroll through the numbers can also be set by changing the accel X or accel Y settings in the Settings window of the SoftStep application. The lower the accel value, the slower the numbers will scroll up or down. These are my fav...
