Re: Notes on my replacement Softstep!

Interesting question.

The answer is "yes at this moment but if there were interest I could make it into a stand-alone."

Though it's not entirely clear how you'd drive it as a stand-alone...

If you already have Live, then Max For Live would do and is a lot cheaper.

Re: Notes on my replacement Softstep!

Yes, it's a Max/MSP patch and here it is: viewtopic.php?f=40&t=535

It relies on the excellent analysis of the MIDI traffic that I got from here (shoulders of giants, etc).

So far it's been working completely reliably.

Notes on my replacement Softstep!

I should have done this a couple of weeks ago. If you recall, I had a very early SoftStep, which died. Even though it was out of warrantee, KMM graciously replaced it at no charge (thanks again!) The unit is cosmetically almost identical to the original one. The one obvious different is that the han...

Re: buzzing noise

Just as a data point, I get a tiny, tiny buzzing in my home studio and I don't have a guitar or any electric instrument or amplifier hooked in. It's definitely the EL backlighting - in fact, I only notice it when I start turning the EL lighting off and on. It's waaay down there, at least 60dB down, ...

QuNeo editor and manual links are missing!

The email and posting on kickstarter are both missing the links to the manual and editor...

Please advise! :-)

Re: QuNeo

Apparently, three have already shipped, there's a parts delay which will delay it some time:

Re: Javascript Softstep driver is ready.

I just added a beat sync mode, where you can flash any combination of the El backlighting and LEDs, in sequence and parallel - and you can also invert the duty cycle (so "on" is the default for flashing).

The demo makes it clear how it works, I hope!

Ask me if you have any questions.

Javascript Softstep driver is ready.

I got my Softstep back a few days ago (or rather, a new one, thanks KMM!) but I didn't manage to find time to test my Javascript driver until today. It was in fact working :-) except the "twinkle" function didn't quite work, one which perhaps I'm the only one who would ever use. It has ton...

Re: SoftStep locks up after awhile

Oh, another datapoint from yesterday! I dusted off my printer to print - and it didn't work. I haven't used it in months so I spent some time reinstalling software, with no results... eventually I replaced the USB cable and it suddenly worked fine. I'm about 70% sure that the long cable I was using ...
