Re: Fancy Softstep driver is ready! I think...

Hello, Rodrigo! Yes, it uses MIDI messages directly, bypassing the ss-cooking on one side and the ss on the other. It offers all the features that these offer plus a few more. 1. You don't have that terrible issue that once you've opened any document with an "ss" in it, you can never close...

Re: Scroller demo for Javascript/Max For Live.

Heya! I have NOT gigged with it. It has taken probably an average number of plugs in and out, though, as I move things around all the time, plus I've sometimes locked up my MIDI when experimenting. I got one of the very first softsteps, it took me a while to migrate from the mailing list to this boa...

Re: Will the QuNeo Max SDK come out at the same time?

Right... right. I guess with 251 LEDs, you really have to get beyond MIDI!

Well, I'm excited. Bring it on! I have my programming fingers(*) all clean and hovering over the keyboard.

(* - I have ten extra fingers I only use for programming...)

Re: Scroller demo for Javascript/Max For Live.

An update: I did deliver this yesterday, exactly at the start of March. Unfortunately, the USB jack on my Softstep died right after I pushed the most recent version so I didn't have a chance to test it "from scratch" in a clean environment (which is what I always do for releases). I'm pret...

Re: Will the QuNeo Max SDK come out at the same time?

Very exciting (particularly since my Softstep is down :-( and I have no toys to program to...) I'll be on it the moment it comes out! I'm a tiny bit worried, frankly, by the C nature of your editor, because it means you have to reinvent a lot of wheels... Have you tested it in Max For Live? I am fra...

Fancy Softstep driver is ready! I think...

I had a terrible disaster - in the very last stages of developing my Softstep driver, my Softstep broke :-( - and I mean, physically broke. The USB plug on the thing has been a little wobbly since I got it - but I thought little of it. When I removed the USB plug to plug something else in, the USB p...

Re: LED messages leaking to other LED

Oh, pshaw, no need to apologize, we need to be kept honest. And the case could easily made that I'm a bit stupid for continuing to use Max For Live. :-D (And come to think of it, I don't remember whether my synth really does banks on 0 or 32. However, I remember for a fact that I only need one CC fo...

I actually know without looking what my primary synth does with this input - it goes to Trumpet. > You are perfectly able to control where your messages go to. Unfortunately, this just isn't the case with Max For Live due to its well-known deficienc...

Re: LED messages leaking to other LED

Only one way to find out! :-D I do agree (as I said in PM) that simply throwing a few extra messages in is a lot simpler in pure Max. But overall I think that a Javascript solution will be the best strategy - partly because it lets us do more complex things like "scrolling messages" that m...

Re: LED messages leaking to other LED

> It sucks that it involves a workaround to get it working consistently, so hopefully they can fix it in firmware (have they been good at addressing issues with firmware? I've only recently got one)). We did get at least one firmware update. I'm of the opinion that we on this board can do a better j...
