Thoughts on Software v1.2

I'm using Windows7, The good things : - Load up time seems to have improved (50 secs here) - Ram usage is now approx. 643660k. - I can now use the softstep and my other midi interface at the same time... Thank you for those improvements ! One problem though : in the key modulation windows, i can't s...

Re: Tempo LED

Hi, Using the above CCs, it's fairly easy to have a tempo LED sync to a DAW. I've done it in Live, and am working on a video to show how... It should be mentioned that you need to send values from 1-4 (for the various LED states) to those CCs... I can get this to work in standalone but not in hoste...

Re: 2 way communication w/ softstep

Well it seems that this is possible to some extent by using the 8 midi inputs but it is quite limited from what i gather. Each MIDI IN line is limited to one note / program change or Controller number. Then in the KEYs modlines, the MIDI INput can be selected and it is possible to change the state o...

Re: EL off that actually saves it's settings

Well, i just did what is said in the FAQ and they now stay off.:-) "In order for the EL to stay off even when unplugging and plugging back in, go into Standalone mode's Settings window to change the EL setting, save your settings, and then download this to the board by clicking the "downlo...

Re: EL off that actually saves it's settings

+1, this is still going on with 1.2 software although it the EL state is saved as OFF.
Is still has to be turned on and off by hand before the lights go off... until the next time softstep is plugged in.

Re: standalone download doesn't work

I suggest you wait for official help before trying anything but you might want to check out the last posts on this thread : "SoftStep v1.2 (so far so good, but with a bug) ".

2 way communication w/ softstep

I have a GORDIUS little giant midi foot controller, it has 2 way communication meaning if i use it with usb or two midi cables (one from the little giant midi out to the PC, and one from the PC to the little giant midi in) it allows any changes i make in the software to be reflected on the foot cont...

Re: SoftStep v1.2 (so far so good, but with a bug)

I had the same problem after changing from 1.2 beta to 1.2 final release. Suddenly no communication between softstep and the editor, red light left of the display staying on, ERR1 message on the display. Had to load VK1 firmware, and they load VK2 and everything came back to normal. I lost one hour ...

Re: state recall

I was asking myself the same question ! Previously it was written in the manual : "This state recall feature is not yet implemented in standalone mode." Now in the 1.2 manual : "The state recall feature that allows you to change scenes and return to them and find everything how you le...
