unguitar - when you hit reset, before you start to calibrate again, does this behavior persist? You will need to be in hosted mode to see this.

Hi Emmett,
thank you for listening.
The dynamic range shown in the calibration window looks just fine.
Is there a chance you to check my setup/preset ?

you can easily check if the cable lenght is causing this problem.

By my point of view it looks like the problem is in the software.

I don't know how many are having succesful results with external pedal, by the low feedbacks on this thread I wouldn't be surprised to know just a few SS users are having an external pedal connected with their SS.

and... how do we start a trouble shooting post ?

-Thanks I didn't even think that a 15' cable would cause a problem.

-Maybe a tips post i.e. first post "don't use more than a 10' long cable"
anything that isn't in the manual or easily missed. just a thought rather than sifting through posts. A major caveat to forums in general.

I'm still getting sent cc's from my pedals with short cables from a powered hub.

I'm occasionally getting sent CC's (only on my ss2) from the expression port with a short usb cable and a variety of expression pedals.

Can anyone recommend a working usb hub?

Unguitar, Have you made sure that you are using the latest editor? If so try updating your firmware in the hardware menu and see if the problem persists.

SLP, have you tried using your SoftStep with no hub to determine if your hub is the source of the problem?

After having got the doubt of a possible editor's bug, I have redone all my presets, cleared the old ones and created a new setlist.
Now it all works.
Don't know why the same settings were giving the problems I have encountered.
I am sorry I have no routine to share, it just began to work after clearing all my my previous presets.

Weird, but all looks fine now.
Sorry for the ones still having troubles, I suffer with them...

SoftStep 2, Midi Expander, MacBook Pro OS X 9, latest Editors.

Same exact issue here - expression pedal generating flurry of CCs at full throw, no way to calibrate around it.
Expression pedal worked fine with Rocktron All Access for years up until I sold the Rocktron a couple of days ago.

Now I can't use the expression pedal for guitar pitch bends because the 100% (full throw) fluctuates between 98% and 100% so rapidly that is sounds like a bizarre chorus instead of the normal note being played.

Tried powered hub, no hub - same result. Standalone or connected to Mac - same result.

My expression pedal is 250k, though. Does Tech Support have a recommendation on a particular model that is known to work flawlessly with the SS2?

Update to expression pedal issue. Bought a Roland EV-5 today, it works perfectly.

Yeah we generally recommend the EV-5. It works like a charm with our gear.
