Hey, "the RealO",
Wassamatta, can't come up with your own name? Want to own up to who you really are,or would that expose something .... ? I will say, the timing of your "joining" the forum is a bit suspect and maybe even too obvious.
I'm not going to argue your histrionic( a bit touchy here aren't you?) and rather lame points, 'til later. (after I hear back from KMI support maybe....)
With ALL DUE Respect and a dose of SHEESH,O
To all others interested in this thread:
A piece of gear is only as "rugged" as it's weakest point( especially in a "foot" controller), and THIS weak point is part and parcel to the SS and essential to it's total function.
I do believe the "facts" in this thread are legit/informative, and that there IS a way to protect that " not known to be rugged" USB connector with a little thought and effort. I'll let you know if I come up with something. Too bad they weren't "recessed" in the housing while on the drawing board. (What's done is done though.)
I contacted KMI support and directed them to this topic thread, hopefully they will respond with a bit of helpful advice, insight and maybe even come up with a "protective" solution so we don't have to.It will also be interesting to know if the SS is "repairable" if something breaks.
EDIT: KINDA HUMOROUS HOW THE "REALO"'s post was removed after this exchange. Kinda exposes it for what it seemed to be!
Respect, (THE ONE AND ONLY) Otis Scarecroe
