Assigning the Pitch Pad to CV

Postby Infrablue » Thu Aug 08, 2013 9:01 pm

I'm struggling with figuring out how to assign the pitch pad to send CV to open a closed analog filter. I know it has a pressure and a tilt function and the pure pressure would work best. It got the keys' pressure doing this and it's nice...

Is this possible to do with the pitch pad?

Thanks :)

Well, there are a couple of different ways you could do it. By default, the factory presets are set up to send any pitch bend message being sent on channel 2 out of the CV 3 port. So you can either change the channel it is listening for to match the channel the QuNexus keyboard is sending on, or you can enable controller layer for the bend pad and set it to channel 2.

Changing the channel CV 3 is listening for
  • Open up the editor
  • Go to the CV tab
  • Change the Pitch Bend modline's "Channel" setting to 1 (or whatever channel your preset is sending on)
  • Save and Send the preset
  • Repeat for any other presets you want similar behavior on
  • Pitch bend should now be sent out of the CV 3 port
Enabling controller layer on the bend pad
  • Open up the editor
  • Go to the Controller layer tab
  • Click on the image of the pitch bend pad
  • Check the box next to "Participate in Controller Layer"
  • Set the "Channel" to 2
  • To prevent other weird CCs being sent from the bend pad — enter "-1" into the "Note Number", "Pressure CC", and "Tilt CC" boxes to turn them "off".
  • Repeat this for any other presets you want similar behavior on
  • Pitch bend should now be sent out of the CV 3 port
