Re: Does anyone's SoftStep "disconnect" at the drop of a hat

I had this problem for a while with one of my softsteps. At least, It MAY be the same issue. It's changed now and I see that I actually loose power to the softstep. I wiggle the USB cable and I get power back. Right now I'm using tape to hold the USB cable in place. Quite clearly there is a bad conn...

Re: Multiple Decades of Momentary CC-s - How?

No. It's automatic in Live. But a small amount of memory and processing is used just to have the plugins open. And considering there are 175-375 of them, even using a small portion of processing is not good. I don't even MIND waiting between changing presets...the problem is Live has no way of chang...

Re: pedal use

What I do is I set the Pedal function on the NAV key - this way I don't have to remember "what Key did I use to assign the Pedal control". The Nav Key settings are saved with a Scene, so functionally this is just like saving the Pedal assignment as part of a Key preset. I echo Tom's commen...

Re: Multiple Decades of Momentary CC-s - How?

Yep, these are the two drawbacks I can see with this approach too. Especially the having to cycle through scenes. You could actually set up a key to jump to a specific scene (so key 0 would jump you to Scene 20 if you wanted). But that might not be ideal either. I sometimes take a similar approach t...

Re: BIGFOOT MODE

What's even worse, Kasper, is that you and I have met several times and I still messed up spelling of your name. Sorry my friend! We met though Zbigniew, I do belive...though it may have been through Naut Humon in San Francisco. We've also talked in the distant past about your multi-string controlle...

Re: Programming beyond the 10 keys in hosted mode

Surfmuse, Yes, turning off all of the Scenes other than the ones you want to use is a very good idea. This way you aren't cycling through functions in scenes that you don't need. Both Standalone and Hosted modes do, most surely, work very well with Ableton Live. When you say you "Put Live into ...

Re: pedal use

Simply use the "Pedal" as the source in a Modline. I know, this is a very brief answer - but let me know if you need more. There is no specific pedal programming window the way there is an area for each Key. What you do instead is select "Pedal" as the source in a modline of any ...

Re: BIGFOOT MODE

Kaspar - Yes, indeed: Using RAW is a neat way to go. While I don't mind programming in Max, I'd rather not be running it all the time. Even more importantly, perhaps, is that simplifying the use and operation of the SoftStep is something I'd like to encourage. But we all know that capturing the powe...
