Updated jk.softstep abstractions

Hi there, for those interested, I've recently updated my softstep Max abstractions. These are made with all standard max objects, so you can tear them apart and use just what you need. Includes improved LED handling. Also on the page you will find a beta of my looper that uses the softstep abstracti...

Re: MIDI issues with Softstep and Max

OH yes, and there was a collection of old unused devices sitting in his Audio Midi Setup as well, with MOTU Ultralite in use.

Re: MIDI issues with Softstep and Max

Hey Macciza, will do. So far, the culprit seems to be that the midi driver that works with the KMI software won't let go sometimes. The last one was on a 2.8 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo MacBook Pro, 10.6.8. I'll try to grab the crash log next time. Again, an easy fix (unplug softstep, delete device in Audi...

MIDI issues with Softstep and Max

This is just an FYI, I don't know if this has been posted elsewhere, but thought I'd add it...When moving to using all standard Max objects with the Softstep, a few friends have run across an issue: "SSCOM PORT 1" and "SSCOM PORT 2" does not show up in the available midi devices ...

LED Abstraction

I've added an LED abstraction to my jk.softstep stuff. As in the other abstractions, it uses only the standard Max objects.

If you would like to see it, it can be found here:

Re: An example using Softstep with only standard Max objects

Stefan, as far as turning the color off before changing, I didn't even think of it...I just automatically trigger an "off" then "color" as part of my abstraction. Automatically having the firmware turn off when turning to a new color would cause us to lose some functionality of c...

Re: An example using Softstep with only standard Max objects

Nice, Chris! That was pretty clear in jk.stepcore as well, which you showed me how to do... :-)

An example using Softstep with only standard Max objects

I thought I'd share this patch that uses only standard objects in Max/MSP to control the Softstep. As a warning, though, it uses common sysex that was sniffed out with a midi monitor. If used incorrectly, sysex can really scramble things. I've even heard stories of sysex permanently "bricking&q...

Re: replacing ss_cooking...

Hey Stefan, I'm downloading yours right now.... I've also done my own basic patcher without the ss cooking object...more basic than your previous one, but I find it plenty functional and will be using it with the Softstep in performance. I'm interested in seeing how you handled the double (or more) ...

Re: replacing ss_cooking...

Stefan, nice to see you here...! We frequently seem to hang out in the same joints. :-) I agree, the cooking object was a bit sluggish for me as well, so this weekend I wrote my own in Max as well..should've checked here first, yours is very nice, thanks for posting.

Best regards,
Jeff
