Re: Anyone else find the QuNeo sliders unusable?

The iPad uses a capacitive touch screen, it's actually not heat from the finger that makes it work. A controller scans an enormous array of capacitors under the screen and determines where anything is touching. The QuNeo's sensors are different, they detect pressure as well. If you have a large enou...

tethered mode is good

the open source Max Dev Kit ,which cooks raw data from the Quneo, has received a very tepid response so far OK, thanks very much for that note Dan. I had not fiddled with the Max patch before. I now see that the Tethered Mode which sends raw sensor data is sufficient for prototyping new interaction...

Re: Firmware upgrade with Linux?

I'm not quite ready to get into an argument about 'if this or that isn't opened, you can't say open source'. Open source comes in a lot of flavors ... the scripts for Ableton have been opened ... the open source Max Dev Kit... focusing on the right problems every hour of the work day is crucial to ...

Re: Firmware upgrade with Linux?

I'm now confused about the previous claims that the device would be open, ie "QuNeo, 3D Multi-touch Open Source MIDI & USB Pad Controller" as the Kickstarter title read. Does it just mean now that the sysex format and editor is going to be open? Documenting the sysex or having an edito...

Re: QuNeo FAQ link not functional

Amundsen is referring to the FAQ forum link on the forum index page.

It links to viewforum.php?f=48 which is just the index page.

It is supposed to link to viewforum.php?f=58, which is an empty forum since no one has ever gone there.

Re: QuNeo Editor Not Working

Blue light means it has received a message to prepare for firmware upload, but never received it. To get past this you'll need to update the firmware. It is possible this converts your problem to 'how come the firmware doesn't update', theres' a faq document on that around here somewhere named QuNeo...

here's the deal

I feel this whole debate is due to a misunderstanding. There have been some really cool demo videos showing off the capabilities of the QuNeo, but which to a casual observer strongly suggest that the QuNeo has capabilities that it simply does not have. The videos are not intentionally misleading tho...

actual real life experience, log

I have used the QuNeo in the manner in which you intend to. Pressure control is sent whenever a note is active. Note on velocity is extracted from rate of change of pressure, starting at a configurable pressure point. Pressure control is not related to note on velocity except that it's not sent unti...
