Don't give up yet, we must be able to fix this!

I doubt it's the cable, really, at some point trying it couldn't hurt.

You can "reset" from pure MIDI by sending the two sysex commands that represent

standalone off:
https://github.com/rec/swirly/blob/mast ... ble.js#L12

and tether on:
https://github.com/rec/swirly/blob/mast ... ble.js#L25

Now, you're sure you're NOT using the ss patch, right?

I'm using a tweaked version of the patch in the original post, using a jk.stepcore and 10 jk.softsteps.

Is it possible to send the messages in the js without running it in js? To tether and untether it?

Oh, you don't need JS at all. You can just send 'em right to a midiout. I was just pointing to that as it was a place online that has the actual numbers you need, is all.

Just discovered an annoying quirk with this.

When using my MIDI keyboard with my max patch, and not having the softstep plugged in, the midiin inside the jk.stepcore is using the sustain pedal data as button press data CC64.

Is there a way to not have this happen?
