Detailed Info about the Rogue's radio?

Postby Tausendberg » Tue May 21, 2019 10:08 pm

Hello, Considering buying a Rogue but I can't find any detailed documentation on exactly what the Rogue's behavior in the 2.4 ghz spectrum is.

What I mean is, my live rig right now has three 2.4ghz devices as part of it, (a wifi adapter on my QSC Touchmix 8 running on wifi channel 1, and two xvive u3's which are set to channel groups that avoid each other and the mixer) and I want to avoid possibility of interference with those devices down to as low as possible. If I knew what exactly the Rogue has a tendency to do then I could know how to perhaps steer my other 2.4ghz devices (even if, I assume, Rogue doesn't have any user facing radio settings).

I just found the Rogue manual on Sam Ash,

"A tiny flathead screwdriver would allow you to change the channel on each device.
• There are a total of 16 channel settings (0-9 & A-F)."

OK! So please, can someone give me a list of what frequencies the different channel settings correspond to?

WIFI Channel 1 corresponds to 2,401 mhz to 2,423 mhz.
My XVive U3's are setup to frequency hop between 2434mhz, 2440 mhz, 2442mhz, 2427 mhz, 2448 mhz, 2450 mhz.

So, if I know how to set up the rogue's transciever channel to get it to 2,460 mhz - 2,480 mhz then it looks like I'd be able to perfectly avoid interference!

Which channel should I use?

Took me awhile to dig up the info, and I sent you a separate email, but I'll copy that here as well.

The channels are divided evenly into the 2.4ghz band, so I believe they should correspond to the following frequencies (approximately).

0 : 2406
1 : 2412
2 : 2418
3 : 2424
4 : 2429
5 : 2435
6 : 2441
7 : 2447
8 : 2453
9 : 2459
10 : 2465
11 : 2471
12 : 2476
13 : 2482
14 : 2488
15 : 2494

The channels could be reversed from my expectation with 0 corresponding to 2494, 1 to 2488, etc. And these frequencies are approximate. Hopefully this will help you get the right settings.

Thank you! I did see your email and I was actually about to come over here to repost what you found so that it would be in the public record. Ok, so now I know I can just dial it into Channel 8 to 15 and it will avoid my other radios! I can even go a step further and set it to 14-15 in order to avoid any stray bluetooth (which tops out at 2483 mhz). Perfect!
