Feature Requests

Postby Jackenite » Mon Oct 21, 2013 12:18 am

Pitch bend on cross fader
Return values for faders
Slew rate for return values, individually set
X Y cc values and grid notes on same pad
Finite rotary movement that stops at 127 instead of cycling around
Rotaries that are not inverted or the option to invert
Ranges for output. Ex: 16-64 instead of always 0-127
Simplifying midi light control
Polyphonic aftertouch
Push presets from quneo back onto computer, hardware mapping retrieval.

1. Already requested
2. Already requested
3. Already requested
4. Not going to happen
5. Already doable. Just set your Pass Thru Width (in Advanced tab) to something lower than 127 — like 20.
6. Already requested
7. Already requested. Likely not happening.
8. Any suggestion? It's easy to say "simplify this", actually coming up with how tends to be more difficult.
9. Already requested. Likely not happening.

- Controllers linked to the same MIDI message should act together (e.g. : if a slider control CC#4 on every patch, it stay lit the same way whatever the active patch is).
- Add the possibility to "stack" bank buttons so that if two banks button control the same kind of controler, you can have 16 banks instead of 4 (for example the two next arrows for the sliders)

and that's it for now...

1. Would be cool. It might be possible within a single preset — I doubt it would be able to span multiple presets though. It also wouldn't surprise me if it took a major firmware overhaul to make it possible (but maybe it doesn't).

2. Not going to happen due to code/memory space limitations.

Thanks for making an awesome controller!
updates/improvements.....
1/ ...this is WAY out there... but I love the midi learn function of many vsti/apps but is there any way to create "midi teach" that would change programing completely. It could be as easy as an editor mode that could receive midi from faders/knobs moved on the vsti.

2/ SCALES... I use my quneo as a "keyboard" sometimes. I am starting to make presets for scales ( ie Cm dorian, G pentatonic ect.... does this exist already- or can it please be implemented on future editor updates.

3/ I'd like to see the pad banks improved, the ability to change the notes rather than just transpose them would be amazing ( great for scales, keychanges etc...)
And.. how about a dedicated bank button ( rhombus) that would turn the 16 pads into bank selectors. -- I know the preset button can do this but then I'd only have one preset with 16 banks.

4/ is there anyway to turn the long slider into a multi note ribbon synth ?
..

1. This would require the VST to be capable of outputting MIDI. And, I'm not sure, would this be for things like updating the LEDs on the sliders and such? If so, the QuNeo already has specific MIDI CCs that will update the LEDs when received. There are diagrams on pages 38-39 in the QuNeo Full Manual that show all of the messages and what they control.

Though perhaps that's the point of your request, the ability to change what message they respond to? If so, that's been logged as a feature request already.

2. There is the "Enhanced Note Mode" project: http://www.keithmcmillen.com/project-de ... -note-mode

It covers the various modes, Ionian through Locrian, and also has Major and Minor Pentatonic. Root note is selectable. It only operates in drum mode though, not grid mode. The package includes a Max/MSP patch, a Max 4 Live device, and a standalone application.

3. Yeah, I always found it odd that we didn't put dedicated bank switches on the QuNeo. But I think the real problem with adding even more banks per preset and having completely different settings for banks (or at least just different notes) is simply available memory/space on the QuNeo. I'm pretty sure it's pushing toward the limit already — adding more could potentially put it over the top.

4. Hmm, well, while the long slider can indeed detect two fingers, it currently cannot output the location of the two fingers as separate MIDI notes. Right now the multi-touch on the long slider only sends a CC "width" parameter — the distance between the two fingers.

Hi,

(I apologize if this is not the best place to post this feature request.) I was wondering if you guys have any plans to write some QuNeo template for Bitwig's api.

Thanks a lot!

No worries.

TheOtherSupport has been spending some time learning Bitwig's scripting API, so I'm pretty sure we'll get something together in the near future.

Is there anything in particular you'd like to see?
