I just bought a QuNexus with the main purpose of using the CV IN 1&2 for a Roland KD-7 and FD-7 kick and hi-hat pedals. They are/were the standard Roland V-Drum pedals in their day. I have not seen anything posted about this kind of thing, but I figured that with a a little work that I should be able to:
1) Use the kick drum trigger to play a Sampler/DrumRack/whatever on a specific channel. I basically want to use the CV input to make my pedal trigger something in Ableton Live. Probably a kick drum sample to start with, but maybe more creative things eventually.
2) Use the FD-7 continuous control pedal to control stuff in Ableton. Probably wanna start with simply a dry/wet mix on an effect, but basically use the CV controller as a CC.
I just plugged the 1/4" kick drum plug into an 1/8" adapter and plugged it into the CV IN on the QuNexus. When I step on the pedal it seems that nothing happens at lower velocities, and then I get chromatic clusters of notes with each kick drum hit. For example, I'll get 12 Note on and 12 note off messages from C2-B3 with a bunch of "Control" message info. I've pasting a readout from "Midi Monitor" on Mac from just a single hit of the kick drum pedal below.

All I want to be able to do is to get a "Note On" and a "Note Off" on a particular note # and channel that I can set. Ideally I can use the incoming velocity info to use the cool curves in the Qunexus editor and make my sound in Ableton to be as expressive as possible.
So far I am unable to even get simple changes in the editor like channel and CC# to read out differently in my Midi Monitor AP or in Ableton. I am only a few hours into working with this instrument, so I apologize in advance for 1) being a noob, and 2) asking about this if it has been covered somewhere else. Iv'e bee searching Youtube, Google, and this forum for these kinds of questions and I have surprisingly not seen anything posted about it. I've talked to a few drummer/producers about my little experiment and my friends are excited to see if I can get this working. There is interest in using the QuNexus with things like kick drum pedals, other electronic drum 'pads' and acoustic drum triggers. My thought was that the QuNexus was a pretty cheap 2 CV Input device that also happened to have a bunch of cool buttons and lights, rather than the other way around.
Anyways, please let me know if there is any valuable info on this kind of thing anywhere ot let me know if I'm doing something impossible. I just ordered a 1/8" y adapter to see if I can get any other kind of CC data through the QuNexus from my KD-7. http://www.amazon.com/dp/B00D6NPH88/ref ... 1_ST1_dp_1
Thanks for reading this far and I hope to get some guidance.
