That ernie ball sounds right it's a 250 pot. Not going to work well. The ev5 works best, but I use the moog ep3 for quality feel.
You could buy a 10$ volt/ohm meter and check your pedal that way aswell.

We have found a bug that makes expression pedals not have a full range.

To fix go to the SoftStep advanced editor and select 'Settings' - Global tab. Click the button the bottom which says 'Reset Sensitivity'. Now you can recalibrate your pedal. Do not adjust the sensitivity on the global settings tab.

I hope this helps someone!

Hi guys, I'm back with the same problem.
I bought a Moog Ep-3 expression pedal.
Now the softstep only starts reacting when I press the pedal 90% down.
In other words I have only a range between 90% and 100%.
It's unworkable and I have to play a gig in 1 hour :)

I have the latest firmware and software (which seems to cause the problem first time).
I also tried the bug fix with reset sensitivity.

Any (fast) help would be highly appreciated.

I've got an EP-3 in front of me and it's working just fine, although I can't really reach 127, but that can be easily solved.
Does the C coming out stay at a high value in heel position?
Sounds like a cable/adapter issue.

Somehow it's working now (don't know why, didn't change anything).
However, the pedal is working VERY exponential.
I would like it to be just completely linear.
But no matter which option I select (linear, exponential, logarithmic) in the Editor, it stays very exponential.
Any ideas?
thanks

Problem is, I need to use Hosted mode. Can anyone explain why my pedal is working with SSCOM port 1 and not softstep share?
Thanks this really helped me, fixed my midi input

Hello, I'm back after 2 years, for 2 years I've been running a solution with Max4Live "Mapulator", but since a few days it seems that the problem is getting stranger so a solution would be great.

My Roland EV-5 is still starting counting from 0 when I'm about halfway up the pedal.

I was wondering if there has been any solution to this problem since 2 years.
I went through the entire thread, and tried all suggestions, but couldn't make it work.

Just to make sure: it's not a problem with the pedal, because with my Behringer FCB1000, it starts counting immediately after starting to press toes down.

I ran a firmware update, re-calibrated (first resetting sensitivity in global settings), but still the EV-5 starts counting when only I'm about halfway.

Thanks

Might be the adapter.

You mean the stereo jack to mini stereo jack adapter?
I tried 4 different ones, and they all produce the same result..
