Sorry your reply got buried, It was attached to a three year old thread and slipped through the cracks.

"Setting up the Softstep" is such a hugely vague request, that it doesn't give me much to go on. I could write a tutorial on setting up the SS, that gives no practical advice to your specific situation. The SS is an extremely flexible product, and with that flexibility, comes a bit of complexity.

That being said, you can get the SS setup with most modern music applications by plugging it in, navigating to the factory NOTE preset, and begin MIDI mapping.

That may or may not get you anywhere though. I'd be happy to help you, and provide a custom solution for your particular use case, but I'll need more information to go on than simply setting it up. It's a class compliant MIDI controller, there's no real setup involved in order to start sending MIDI messages to music applications.
